Week 9 Results (2013) ~ "If Real Football Used Fantasy Scoring..."

A very wild, high scoring weekend in Creative Misfortune's fantasy games this week! With playoff spots on the line, teams are starting to lay it all on the line.

In week 9, the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans all managed to win a fantasy game they lost in real life.

High score of the week goes to the New England Patriots (yes, not the Philadelphia Eagles), who scored 148 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots scored more real points and rolled up more yards against the Steelers than anybody ever has before in a game. Curious fantasy stat of the week - Pittsburgh scored 99 fantasy points against the Patriots, which would have been good enough to beat every other team this week, except the Patriots and the Eagles.

Low score falls to the Atlanta Falcons at 41 points, by far the highest low score of the season. 

Closest Games of the Week: Cincinnati Bengals 75, Miami Dolphins 72; Seattle Seahawks 75, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 72. Both games come down to the overtime wire, but only the Cincinnati Bengals escaped with a fantasy win, despite losing the real game by the rarest of finishes - a safety in overtime.

Fantasy Star of the Week: Nick Foles, 45 points. In a week of oustanding fantasy achievements, 7 TD passes set Nick Foles apart from all the rest.

Curious note of the week: If the fantasy season ended today, the Houston Texans would be the AFC's 6th seed, having a 5-3 fantasy record, despite only being 2-6 in real life.
