Week 14 - Divisional Round Results (2014) ~ "If Real Football Used Fantasy Scoring..."

Only four teams remain in Creative Misfortune's fantasy playoffs!

How much of an impact did gaining a first round bye and the Bye-Week Advantage give New England, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Green Bay? See the divisional matchup results below to find out.

Creative Misfortune Playoff Schedule:
Week 15 - Championship Games
Week 16 - Creative Misfortune Fantasy Bowl IV

High score of Divisional weekend goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who scored 150 fantasy points. Even without their impressive 25-point bye-week advantage they still would have been the highest scoring team of the week by 12 points.

Low score falls to the New Orleans Saints at 33 fantasy points. The Saints were destroyed by their division rivals, the Carolina Panthers. Not only did the loss damage their hopes of winning the NFC South division, a division nobdoy wants to win, it cost them a chance to advance to the championship round in fantasy football's second season.

Closest Game of the Week: New England Patriots 99, Indianapolis Colts. The AFC's #1 seeded team didn't need any of their bye-week advantage to get by the Colts, but that extra bit of security certainly didn't hurt them any as the Patriots advance to the AFC Championship game.

Fantasy Star of the Week: Le'Veon Bell, 41 points. Bell runs wild again and congratulations to your fantasy team if he helped you advance in the playoffs. Thanks to his running, and Denver's sudden reliance on their running backs to score points, Pittsburgh cruised easily to the AFC Championship game.

*Bye-week Advantage - To reflect the benefit gained by the top 2 seeds in each conference getting a bye week before they host Divisional Playoff games, the four teams who earn these bye weeks in the fantasy standings will play Week 13 to gain bonus points that will be added to their score in the Divisional Playoff round. For every 4 points they score in their Week 13 game, they will receive 1 bonus point in their Divisional round matchup.

Since there are no bye weeks between the Divisional games and the Championship Games, bonus points will only be a factor in the Divisional playoff games.
