Season Recap - 2013 Jacksonville Jaguars
Final Record: 4-12
Finished: 3rd Place in the AFC South

Week 1: Lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 28-2
Ranked - 32
Just when you think the Jaguars couldn't possibly get any worse, they open up the season by scoring nothing more than a safety before the home crowd. This might end up being a very long season for the Jaguars and their two faithful fans. They should just sign Tebow and bring him back home. It's not like they have anything to lose at this point.
Week 2: Lost at the Oakland Raiders, 19-9
Ranked - 32
The Jaguars show no signs of improving and injuries will only make them worse.
Week 3: Lost at the Seattle Seahawks, 45-17
Ranked - 32
Seriously, Jacksonville. Just bring Tebow in now. There are questions at quarterback and the only way you can energize fans to actually want to come see the Jaguars lose is if Tim Tebow is on the roster. Sure, it may be a failed experiment, but what has worked for you lately?
Week 4: Lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 37-3

This team is terrible. No other way to say it. No reason to sugarcoat it either.
Week 5: Lost at the St. Louis Rams, 34-20

Somehow I don't think a trip to Denver is what Jacksonville needs right now. Are they on pace to go 0-16? I don't know, but I'd take the 0-16 Lions from a few years back over these guys, give you the points and still feel confident that the Jaguars would remain defeated.

The Jaguars beat the biggest spread in NFL history! At least they have that going for them.

The Jaguars continue to play terrible football. It's as if they try for a half, then give up and just try and get the game over as soon as possible.

If any team needed a bye week, it was the 2013 Jacksonvile Jaguars. Now we see if the rest did them any good or just strengthen their resolve to run the table and finish 0-16.

After an impressive 3-game winning streak, the Jaguars have fallen back down to earth.

No chance at the #1 draft pick or the playoffs. The Jaguars can impact the playoffs by beating the Colts and preventing them from trying to sneak into the playoffs with a first-round bye.

Season Recap - 2011 Jacksonville Jaguars
Finished: 3rd Place in the AFC South

Week 1: Defeated the Tennessee Titans, 16-14
Ranked - 16
The Jags won despite cutting their starting quarterback a few days before their game. Had the Titans come to town ready to play, the outcome of this game would have been far different.
Week 2: Lost at the New York Jets, 32-3
Ranked - 25
Garrard, gone. McCown, benched after a terrible three quarters of play filled with four interceptions and a safety. Welcome to the party, Gabberts. Coach Del Rio needs you to take him to the playoffs if he wants to be coaching the Jaguars next season. But don’t worry. There is no pressure on you.
Week 3: Lost at the Carolina Panthers, 16-10
Ranked - 27
Note to self: Take the blame for mental lapses at the end of games. That is the best way to instill team owners with confidence in your leadership abilities. Signed, Jack Del Rio.

The Jaguars have one more win than the Colts, but they seem lifeless compared to Indianapolis.

It's too early to say that the Jaguars have quit, but they certainly are playing uninspired football.

That was an ugly win over the Ravens, but at this stage in the season, the Jags will take them anyway they can get them.
Week 8: Lost at the Houston Texans, 24-14

We'll see just how much the Jaguars have left in them this season when they come back from their bye week and face off against the winless Colts. I sure hope a riveting game like that will be shown on TV somewhere.

The Jaguars have little hope of being anything more than spoilers the second half of the season.
Week 10: Defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 17-3

Good news for the Jaguars - they get to play the Colts again this season.

At least Maurice Jones-Drew is a viable fantasy option, but this offense has nothing else going for it.
Week 12: Lost to the Houston Texans, 20-13

New coach. New owners on the horizon. Could a new city be in the works as well?
Week 13: Lost to the San Diego Chargers, 38-14

A fired coach. The team up for sale. Despite all that, Jones-Drew continues to put up nice fantasy numbers.
Week 14: Defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 41-14
Ranked - 25
41 points! Sure, it came against the Buccaneers, but still… 41 points!
Week 15: Lost at the Atlanta Falcons, 41-14
Ranked - 27
The Jaguars suffered a good old fashioned butt-kicking against the Atlanta Falcons. With at least one game left against the Colts, the Jaguars can gain some hint of positivity before they shut the doors on a miserable 2011 campaign.

Down here on the field there were two teams killing each other, but I guess that's better in front of a hundred thousand fans than twenty thousand. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if we can change, and you can change, everybody can change!

Letters of Misfortune - AFC South, Part II
If you are the defending Super Bowl champions, like New Orleans, having NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stop by for a preseason visit is cause for celebration. If you are the Jacksonville Jaguars, however, a team coming off two consecutive losing seasons and one struggling to connect in a meaningful way with their fan base, the commissioner may as well arrive at camp wearing a black robe and toting a scythe.
With talks of relocating an NFL team to Los Angeles, or even London, Jacksonville needs to get their fans interested quickly. The Jaguars had to black-out almost all of their home games last season. Never a good sign, especially in a warm-weather city like Jacksonville where extreme cold and snow are never an issue. Of course, where fans are dedicated to the team, like Green Bay, Chicago and Buffalo, such weather extremes are embraced. This extreme passion demonstrated by fans from other cities makes Jacksonville’s inability to sell-out games even less acceptable.
Commissioner Goodell challenged the Jaguar’s organization and the local community during his visit “to demonstrate their passion for this team and their passion for football.” Not a good sign with so much relocation talk going around. In Minnesota, LA has been bandied around as a possible option if a new stadium deal is not reached soon in the legislature. But unlike in Jacksonville, there is a dedicated fan base in Minnesota and a franchise with an established, if not necessarily distinguished, history. No such history exists in Jacksonville and a new stadium is not part of the equation.
I personally have no desire to see an NFL team in Los Angeles, unless the Raiders move back there, but I wouldn’t wish that on any city.
Jacksonville, the Commissioner has served notice to you. You can try all the tricks in the world to increase fan interest in your games, but there is only one sure-fire cure for their apathy – win early, win big, win often.
The Titans managed to end the 2009 season on a high note despite being destroyed by New England 59-0 and suffering the embarrassment of their long-time coach Jeff Fisher wearing a Peyton Manning jersey at a charity event and joking that he "just wanted to feel like a winner".
Though some chastised Jeff Fisher for his “disrespect” of the Titans, I think his decision triggered a renewed sense of purpose for his beleaguered franchise. At the time of the jersey incident, Tennessee had yet to win a game. They entered their bye week a marvelous 0-6 and had been outscored by the likes of Jacksonville, Indianapolis and New England 127-26 in their previous three games. Collins, one of the surprising heroes of the 2008 season, lost his game completely and needed to be benched. The defense was in total disarray, having not allowed less than 24 points since the opening week against Pittsburgh. Chris Johnson remained the only bright spot on a struggling team.
Motivated after their bye week and inspired by the rejuvenated play of Vince Young, Tennessee finished the season on an 8-2 run, with their only losses coming against San Diego and Indianapolis. As much as Jeff Fisher was ridiculed last year for wearing Manning’s jersey, the ploy ended up being a brilliant move on his part.
The upcoming 2010 season will provide a new set of challenges for the Titans. Division victories will be hard to come by this season. Indianapolis is always strong, Houston is on the rise and Jacksonville is desperate to right their sinking ship. If the Titans struggle early again this year, I doubt any magic, motivational bullets will help them pull out of their tailspin, so Coach Fisher better have the team ready to play as soon as the season starts.
