Monday Night Game Result:
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (Actual ~ Indianapolis, 30-17)
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Indianapolis, 31-28. Peyton Manning will not allow the Texans to beat him twice this season.
Scottie V's Pick: Indianapolis, 24-23. The Texans give it their all for a national Monday Night Football audience, but Peyton isn't giving up the AFC South crown yet.
Vegas Lines Pick: Indianapolis, 28-21. Indianapolis by 5.5, Over/Under 49.5.
Accuscore Pick: Indianapolis, 24-13. Indianapolis 66% win confidence
What If Sports Pick: Houston, 28-20. Houston won 3 of 5 simulations.
Best Record Wins Pick: Indianapolis, 20-17. Both records at 4-2, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Indianapolis, 20-17
All systems, except What If Sports, are rewarded for their faith in the Colts winning big at home against their division rivals. Manning puts on a clinic and the defensive line harassed Schaub and the Texans nearly every play. With the victory, the Colts move into first place in the AFC South and re-assert themselves as one of the NFL's elite. Now if they could just learn to run the football in the final four minutes...
With only 13 games to pick in week 8, no system managed to predict games with 70% accuracy. Three came close, getting 69% - Scottie V, Vegas and blindly picking the Home Team. On the other end of the spectrum, What If Sports quick simulations resulted in only getting a miserable 4 out of 13 games picked accurately (30.8%). But I would be remiss if I didn't call out myself for my own failures this week, as Creative Misfortune only managed to pick 5 out of 13 games correctly. Ouch.
