Season Recap - 2013 Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins

Final Record: 8-8
Finished: 3rd Place in the AFC East
2014 Draft Position: 19th

Preseason Ranking: 23

Week 1: Defeated the Cleveland Browns, 23-10
    Ranked - 7
Can the Dolphins actually play- both offense and defense? Sure, they went up against the Browns, but they'll take any win they can get these days.

Week 2: Defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 24-20
    Ranked - 8
Could the Dolphins be for real? Their defense is certainly playing well enough for them to make the playoffs. If the offense can stay relatively mistake free, they may have a chance to do big things.

Week 3: Defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 27-23
    Ranked - 7
Huge win over Atlanta on Sunday. The defense keeps the Dolphins in games and now it looks like the offense can actually win them.

Week 4: Lost at the New Orleans Saints, 38-17
    Ranked - 10
Tough matchup on the road Monday Night, but Miami still keeps showing a lot of promise and potential.

Week 5: Lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 26-23
    Ranked - 15
Two straight losses have the Dolphins reeling a bit, but they are still very much alive in a competitive division. They could easily come out of the bye week in first place if the Patriots and Jets both stumble.

Week 6: BYE WEEK
    Ranked - 12
Chasing the Patriots out of the bye week, Miami still is very much alive in the AFC East.

Week 7: Lost to the Buffalo Bills, 23-21
    Ranked - 17
You are supposed to win home games coming out of the bye week, Miami. Not lose them to division rivals.

Week 8: Lost at the New England Patriots, 27-17
    Ranked - 19
Losses in the division are going to kill Miami's playoff hopes.

Week 9: Defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 22-20
    Ranked - 18
A season of possibility has turned into a season of turmoil. Let's hope something far greater comes out of the Incognito issue than a few wins and losses by a football team on a scoresheet.

Week 10: Lost at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 22-19
    Ranked - 22
The off-field issues have impacted Miami's on-field ability to win games.

Week 11: Defeated the San Diego Chargers, 20-16
    Ranked - 16
Despite their off-field issues, the Dolphins managed to win a much-needed game.

Week 12: Lost to the Carolina Panthers, 20-16
    Ranked - 20
The Dolphins lost a heartbreaker against Carolina and are now fading fast in the AFC East division race.

Week 13: Defeated the New York Jets, 23-3
    Ranked - 14
Second place in the AFC East is theirs. Can they turn that into a Wild Card spot?

Week 14: Defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-28
    Ranked - 14
Miami has a huge, possible make-or-break test against the Patriots this week. Win, and they will likely make the playoffs. Lose, and all bets are off.

Week 15: Defeated the New England Patriots, 24-20
    Ranked - 11
Outstanding win by the Dolphins over the Patriots last weekend. Now that they know they can beat the Patriots, who knows how far they can go… if they can just make the playoffs.

Week 16: Lost at the Buffalo Bills, 19-0
    Ranked - 12
The Dolphins can sneak into the playoffs as a wild card if they win and Baltimore loses or if they win and the Chargers win.

Week 17: Lost to the New York Jets, 20-7

Final Ranking: 16

Tomorrow, the 2013 Arizona Cardinals...
