Predictions of Creative Misfortune - Week 1 (2011)

All systems look to continue their accurate ways following their faith in the Green Bay Packers last night as the full slate of Week 1 games gets underway. Which systems will achieve that magical 70% accuracy mark after starting the week a perfect 1-0?

Sunday Game Predictions:

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers
Creative Misfortune's Pick: San Francisco 49ers by 3. Against the NFC West, the 49ers actually should play pretty well.
Scottie V's Pick: San Francisco 49ers by 8. Harbaugh will have the Niners playing with some pride.
     Vegas Lines Pick: San Francisco 49ers by 5. 49ers by 5, Over/Under 37.5
Best Record Wins Pick: San Francisco 49ers by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: San Francisco 49ers by 3.

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Cleveland Browns by 1. The Bengals were cooked before the season even started. If the Browns can't beat them to open their 2011 campaign, it will be a long, frsutrating season for the Dawg Pound.
Scottie V's Pick: Cleveland Browns by 13. Renewed vigor for the Browns and the Bengals are firmly entrenching themselves in the NFL's cellar.
Vegas Lines Pick: Cleveland Browns by 7. Browns by 6.5, Over/Under 35
Best Record Wins Pick: Cleveland Browns by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Cleveland Browns by 3.

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Tennessee Titans by 5. The Titans D should be able to shut down whoever starts at quarterback for the Jaguars.
Scottie V's Pick: Tennessee Titans by 4. The Jags housecleaning leaves them without a quality quarterback… Jake Locker, who is suspect in his own right, takes advantage.
Vegas Lines Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars by 2. Jaguars by 2, Over/Under 37
Best Record Wins Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars by 3.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers by 4. The score will be something ridiculous like 13-9 or 22-18 knowing these two teams, but Pittsburgh will come out ahead, as usual.
Scottie V's Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers by 3. The Steelers continue their impressive showing that started in the preseason and have their sights firmly set on getting back to the Super Bowl.
Vegas Lines Pick: Baltimore Ravens by 2. Ravens by 1.5, Over/Under 36
Best Record Wins Pick: Baltimore Ravens by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Baltimore Ravens by 3.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Houston Texans by 7. If now is not the time for the Texans, it very well never could be.
Scottie V's Pick: Houston Texans by 10. With Peyton out of the way, the Texans set out to demonstrate their dominance in the AFC South.
Vegas Lines Pick: Houston Texans by 9. Texans by 8.5, Over/Under 43.5
Best Record Wins Pick: Houston Texans by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Houston Texans by 3.

Philadelphia Eagles at St. Louis Rams
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Philadelphia Eagles by 6. The first outing of the Dream Team will be a success, but an underwhelming one that could have been so much more.
Scottie V's Pick: Philadelphia Eagles by 6. The Eagles bumble their way to victory in St. Louis, but question marks arise about Michael Vick's ability to take care of the ball.
Vegas Lines Pick: Philadelphia Eagles by 5. Eagles by 4.5, Over/Under 44
Best Record Wins Pick: St. Louis Rams by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: St. Louis Rams by 3.

Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Arizona Cardinals by 5. Kolb to Fitzgerald. The Panthers will be unable to stop that connection.
Scottie V's Pick: Arizona Cardinals by 7. Kolb looks shaky but outshoots Cam Newton.
Vegas Lines Pick: Arizona Cardinals by 7. Cardinals by 7, Over/Under 37
Best Record Wins Pick: Arizona Cardinals by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Arizona Cardinals by 3.

Minnesota Vikings at San Diego Chargers
Creative Misfortune's Pick: San Diego Chargers by 11. The Vikings can't play out-of-doors on grass and the Chargers are out to prove without a doubt they belong in the Super Bowl discussion.
Scottie V's Pick: San Diego Chargers by 20. Minnesota looks hapless out West while the Chargers look like an early AFC contender.
Vegas Lines Pick: San Diego Chargers by 9. Chargers by 8.5, Over/Under 41.5
Best Record Wins Pick: San Diego Chargers by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: San Diego Chargers by 3.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins
Creative Misfortune's Pick: New York Giants by 8. The G-Men, even without Osi, will still have Grossman's number.
Scottie V's Pick: New York Giants by 1. The Giants squeak one out in a low scoring affair in D.C.
Vegas Lines Pick: New York Giants by 3. Giants by 3, Over/Under 37.5
Best Record Wins Pick: Washington Redskins by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Washington Redskins by 3.

Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers by 2. In a close battle, the Buccaneers will prevail at home.
Scottie V's Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers by 9. The Bucs start off on the right foot in trying to prove they are a team to be reckoned with in the NFC.
Vegas Lines Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers by 2. Buccaneers by 1.5, Over/Under 41
Best Record Wins Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers by 3.

Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Atlanta Falcons by 4. The Falcons play solid football on the road and the Bears won’t be able to stop them.
Scottie V's Pick: Atlanta Falcons by 8. The Falcons are aiming to show that they are still among the NFL's elite.
Vegas Lines Pick: Atlanta Falcons by 3. Falcons by 3, Over/Under 40.5
Best Record Wins Pick: Chicago Bears by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Chicago Bears by 3.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
Creative Misfortune's Pick: Kansas City Chiefs by 10. The Bills simply have nothing going for them and the Chiefs need every possible win they can get if they hope to reach the playoffs again in 2011.
Scottie V's Pick: Kansas City Chiefs by 3. The Chiefs seem to be plateauing at best, but at least they are in the regular season now.
Vegas Lines Pick: Kansas City Chiefs by 6. Chiefs by 6, Over/Under 40
Best Record Wins Pick: Kansas City Chiefs by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: Kansas City Chiefs by 3.

Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets
Creative Misfortune's Pick: New York Jets by 7. As much as I'd like to see Dallas win the "Ryan Bowl" - gotta love that name - the Jets should come away with a victory at home.
Scottie V's Pick: New York Jets by 3. Home field advantage is the difference in this one.
Vegas Lines Pick: New York Jets by 5. Jets by 4.5, Over/Under 40.5
Best Record Wins Pick: New York Jets by 3. Both teams at 0-0, advantage home.
Home Team Wins Pick: New York Jets by 3.
