This Day in Football History - October 21st

*October 21, 1973 - Fred Dryer, a defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams, becomes the first player in NFL history to record two safeties in one game in the Rams' 24-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

*October 21, 1979 - Roy Green of the St. Louis Rams returns a kickoff a record-tying 106 yards for a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

*October 21, 1984 - Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nat Moore catches a 19-yard TD pass from quarterback Dan Marino for the 58th touchdown of his Dolphin career. The catch breaks Larry Csonka's all-time club record of 57.

*October 21, 1985 - Chicago Bears defensive lineman William "The Refrigerator" Perry scores his first touchdown, a 1-yard dive at the goal line, to help the Bears defeat the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football, 23-7.

*October 21, 2007 - Rob Bironas of the Tennessee Titans kicks an NFL-record eight field goals, including the game-winner as time expires, to lead the Titans to a 38-36 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. The 26 points scored by Bironas ranks as the most points scored by an NFL kicker in a single game.
