Early 49er miscues allowed the Saints to jump out to a 9-0 lead, but the wind and a stingy 49ers defense kept the game close throughout once the San Francisco offense started moving the ball. Despite their difficulties, the Saints forced four turnovers en route to a solid 25-22 victory on the road after falling behind in the 3rd quarter and coughing up an eight point lead in the final two minutes.
